Angela Finet, Pastor
Angela grew up in Central Illinois. A child of two teachers, she has an insatiable thirst for learning, earning a Bachelor’s degree in marketing from Columbia College, Chicago,  an MBA from Temple University, and a Master’s of Divinity from Bethany Theological Seminary.  She is the proud parent of two young adult sons, Lucas and Eric.

Angela currently serves the denomination on the Pastoral Compensation and Benefits Advisory Committee, representing clergy.  Prior to her call to Mountville, she pastored a Church of the Brethren congregation in the Mid-Atlantic district.  Her district leadership included service on the Calling and Credentialing Ministry Team, and as a Committee Chairperson on the Susquehanna Valley Ministry Center board.

In 2018, Angela was a preacher at Annual Conference and she is also the author of the 2021 COB Advent Devotional Booklet.  Angela has a passion for peacemaking, having launched the Living Peace Church program through On Earth Peace, where she served as an intern during her seminary training.  She has also led numerous Matthew 18 workshops.  In her spare time, Angela enjoys digging in the dirt, bookbinding and card-making, and playing the flute.

John C. Hess, Director of Music
John has been the Director of Music at the Mountville Church of the Brethren since 1985.  He received an AA degree in Music from Wesley College and a BS degree in Music from Lebanon Valley College.  A private trumpet teacher, John gives lessons at Lancaster Country Day School and at his home in Mountville.

The three bands that are fronted by him are the Bavarian Barons German Band, the March Masters, a patriotic and march band, and the Herm Miller Big Band.  A professional trumpet player, John plays with many groups which include:  Jazz Ministers, F&M College select band and at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre.  John is also the director of the Mountville Lawn Concert Series and secretary-treasurer of Local 294, American Federation of Musicians.  You can reach John at 717-285-5122  x 126 or trp4000@aol.com.


Gloria Hess, Organist

Gloria has served as Organist since 1985.  She earned a B.S. in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College and a Master of Arts in Religion from Lancaster Theological Seminary.  Gloria has also done postgraduate studies with Dr. Pierce Getz.

Away from the organ, Gloria is retired as a Senior Business Analyst with the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education in Harrisburg.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading and teaching private music lessons, as well as spending time with husband John, son Geoff, and daughter in law Stacie.


Jackie Sands, Office Administrator


Mary Rudy, Custodian
Mary and her husband live in Lampeter and are the parents of five children. Mary is also a bus driver for the Penn Manor School District. Mary previously served us from 2019 to early 2020.
