The Outreach Ministry Team serves our church members, the community, and the world through various projects. The members of Stitch, Sew & Share meet regularly to make sweaters for “Knit for Kids” as well as prayer shawls and scarves for those going through difficult times. Additionally, the group sews 300+ tote bags annually to fill with school supplies for Church World Services.
The team coordinates with community leaders to provide hospitality for our neighbors by making a diaper changing station available during community events. We host a local Girl Scout Troop, and serve as a polling place during elections. We host the Bainbridge band for their annual Christmas concert.
Each Christmas Eve, the team selects a local and international organization to receive our financial gifts and offerings. Previous offerings have benefited New Community Project’s training of midwives in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Parish Resource Center’s New Baby kits, latrines for Haiti, Healthy Steps Diaper Bank, RIP Medical Debt, and many others.
In August of 2021, we participated in the Million Trees Campaign, raising enough money to plant 78,000 trees in Africa. We welcome your participation as we strive to be Jesus in the Neighborhood – no matter where the neighborhood is!
