Assembling School Kits

Every year, since 2010, we answer Church World Service‘s call to create kits to meet the needs of neighbors near and far.  All year, we prepare by shopping for items and sewing tote bags.  In the summer, we assemble over 300 School Kits.  These kits provide children in impoverished schools, refugee camps, or other difficult settings some of the basic tools for learning.

In the face of natural disasters, violence, or grinding poverty, Hygiene Kits can mean the difference between sickness and health for struggling families.  Each spring, we prepare 300 of these kits for Church World Services to distribute as there is need.

Emergency Cleanup Buckets

Emergency Cleanup Buckets are full of essential home recovery supplies that are needed in the aftermath of disasters like hurricanes and floods.  Each fall, during hurricane season, we assemble 25-30 buckets to be distributed to areas of the United States as they begin their rebuilding and reclaiming efforts.

Church World Service Legacy Award.  On Feb. 14, 2024, we received a Legacy Congregation Award from CWS in recognition of our years of support for their Kit programs. CWS states that “each kit is filled with hope, packed with love, and shared with our neighbors in need at just the right time.” This statement perfectly aligns with our Core Values, and we are grateful for this partnership of compassion.
