Youth

IMG_2001Our vision statement guides our ministry with our youth. We foster growth in faith, in community, and in service through the forming of personal relationships between youth and adult faith friends. Small group activities based on the interests of the youth are also planned regularly. We participate in our Church of the Brethren district youth activities which include a Barn Bash, a Lock-In, and an annual retreat at Camp Swatara. Youth from our congregation participate in service projects and have the opportunity to travel to work camps in the summer.  Every four years our Senior High youth attend the Church of the Brethren National Youth Conference in Fort Collins, CO.

Our Junior High program is for youth who are in 5th through 8th grade. Junior High youth have the opportunity to begin a mentoring program with an adult faith friend in the congregation. In addition to activities and meetings with their adult faith friend, Junior Highs gather for periodic faith building and fellowship activities. Our Junior High youth also take part in the Church of the Brethren district activities which include a swim party, an annual retreat at Camp Swatara, and a Lock-In.  Our 5th through 8th graders are able to participate in Church of the Brethren summer work camps. They also attend the Church of the Brethren National Junior High Conference every other year.

Leadership and direction for the Youth Program is provided by Pastor Becky Fuchs and a team of youth advisors. Advisors are security-cleared and have a love for youth and a passion to help them grow in faith.
